Nice display. Also nice of you to donate it. Musta been hard letting go. Did you get to shoot it?
I didn't shoot it or take any other photos except the ones at the PD. I just tucked it away and tried not to look at it since we were going to abide by his last wishes. I admit I was secretly wishing the PD didn't want it but they did and it's hanging next to his picture and the "citizen on patrol" guy's photo. It showed no signs of being fired and I still have the original box.
The police chief wouldn't allow it to be displayed without grinding the firing pin which made me cringe. It came with a nice Bucheimer Clark basket weave combat holster. He left my wife his 1967 Colt 357 Magnum Trooper that she watched him clean while she polished his uniform brass. I've shot the Trooper. Here it is with the gear he carried it in.August 20, 2019

No kidding! Grinding the firing pin would have been a deal breaker for me to desecrate a fine old classic like that.
Yeah, they didn't tell me until after it was done. I wish they didn't tell me at all. In the end it wouldn't have made a difference since I had to honor a dying WW2 veteran's(Army Airborne at 17 yr old) wishes. The guns he left behind resulted in my revolver addiction.
