Very nice GP. I saw a 1/2 lug 4" fixed sight GP 357 last year locally for $450 I wish I bought. Both my GPs have very smooth triggers after hammer and hammer dog shims. Polished the mainspring struts and 2000 rounds later the triggers are unbelievable (long pull but smooth as glass). The SP gets a bad rap for it's out of the box trigger, but shims and a 10# Wolff mainspring make it very smooth and light. I tried a 9# and got a light strike after 300 rounds so I went back to a 10# which has been 100% reliable in 1000 rounds.

I love SP 101s. I have a 2" 357, a 2 " 9mm for my truck, a 4" 32 mag and a 3" 327 Federal.
My model 1520 SP 101 357 2" spurless hammer and I spend a lot of time together. Long range trips are a breeze especially with 38-38+P because of the weight(26oz.) some feel is too heavy for a 5 shot snub. More weight=more range time=better accuracy. AIWB is comfortable for me. I see the weight as a plus and my trigger after some work is light, very smooth and with reliable ignition. Rheumatoid Arthritis prevents me from shooting many 357s.

Nice! I really like that blued GP-100. It's on my want list. I found a GP-100, Canadian, 3" 1/2 lug a couple of years ago & love that revolver.
My blued GP100 pales in comparison (pun intended) to the DW as far as finish goes. Everything else about it is all I could ask for. I think there's a highly polished blued model GP100 available as an exclusive offering.

Yep, Rugers are definitely utilitarian revolvers, including their bluing, but the bluing seems to hold up quite well, plus I'm an overall fan of their products. I want to get a Speed Six in 9mm one of these days, but they're hard to find unless you want to overpay on Gunbroker.

A variety of.357 revolvers from Ruger are dependable, expertly made, and renowned for their toughness and accuracy. Gun enthusiasts frequently choose models like the Ruger GP100 and SP101 because they are reliable for both self-defense and target practice.
