Picking up a High Standard 22 pistol has always been on my short list but it seems other things keep pushing it down!  Looks like I need to check into them again.  Thanks for sharing the photos!

Jody- I know where a nice Sharpshooter can be purchased. 4-5"  bull barrel with very nice sights and a sweet trigger. I have shot this gun and it is very accurate, it spent about a year in my basement recently Laugh

One thing to be aware of with classic HS autoloaders is the need to "tune" and fit magazines. They are a little finicky in this respect, but the HS Forum on rimfirecentral.com has lots of support.

I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

My dad still has that exact sentinel from when he was 15--I bet it has a milion rounds through it, and it still looks great and shoots even better.  For those of you who don't know, that HS has an "Alloy" aluminum frame--they are very light.

I have a HS waiting at the shop for me to pick up!  Will post p pics when it is in my hands.  If you are looking for a bigger bore check the posting on this site about High Standard on Gun Broker.   it is so far staing low  last check 151  I think plus shipping..

If i didn't have several already it would find a home in Kansas (it may any way)..

I need to pick up a HS 22 or 2!

That one has some hard miles on it, but maybe a good project gun. Break it down, clean it up, DuraCote, new grips, could be a real winner for about $250 all in!

Or send it to Mark and get it re-blued!

I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

Picked up the Hi-Standard Sentinel this morning…it had a long trip from NY to MO & was pretty hungry when it got here, so thought I'd treat it to a little "buffet"…(^.~)…

Very nice I may have to snag one them to go with the other HS, and Dw's plus rugers and such.   I think they are ones that shoot for ever with out a glitch!

I just signed up and in true Noob fashion, I will open the old thread. Without mentioning  the High Standards, I saw where the Automag II was discussed a little. It took many years, to figure out, but I think To get these to not jam, takes a few things. First, must be clean, ok everyone knows that. I changed a few springs, and the sear was a nightmare. Didnt help either. However, a new recoil spring  AND/OR   the switch to using Fed 50 gr. did help.... a lot. As a matter of fact, I have two and they are both 100% now.  I shot them to be able to say this but now am skerred  and leave em in safe  lol.
