Jody- I know where a nice Sharpshooter can be purchased. 4-5" bull barrel with very nice sights and a sweet trigger. I have shot this gun and it is very accurate, it spent about a year in my basement recently
One thing to be aware of with classic HS autoloaders is the need to "tune" and fit magazines. They are a little finicky in this respect, but the HS Forum on rimfirecentral.com has lots of support.
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

That one has some hard miles on it, but maybe a good project gun. Break it down, clean it up, DuraCote, new grips, could be a real winner for about $250 all in!
Or send it to Mark and get it re-blued!

I just signed up and in true Noob fashion, I will open the old thread. Without mentioning the High Standards, I saw where the Automag II was discussed a little. It took many years, to figure out, but I think To get these to not jam, takes a few things. First, must be clean, ok everyone knows that. I changed a few springs, and the sear was a nightmare. Didnt help either. However, a new recoil spring AND/OR the switch to using Fed 50 gr. did help.... a lot. As a matter of fact, I have two and they are both 100% now. I shot them to be able to say this but now am skerred and leave em in safe lol.
