Calif. It is nicely done. It is a new model Blackhawk with bisley grip frame, ported barrel, ssk scope mount, 445 SM.
Just hoping someone might know who the maker might be or if someone has seen the gun before.

That's a good looking gun, nice catch!
I imagine the circle of custom gunsmiths who would do work like that would be fairly small. To me, the most likely one that comes to mind is Hamilton Bowen. Maybe drop him a note with the s/n...if it's not his, he could probably direct you to who did do it.

Well, after playing with this gun, I have found that it is not an actual 445 caliber. When shooting 445 ammo in it, it bulges the case at the rear significantly, about .014. and blows powder residue back along the case. 30-40 Krag brass reformed is a little better as is 303 British but still not good. Latest finding after research and all is that the
444 Marlin brass cut to 1.610 fits the cylinders perfectly, no cutting down or anything.
It is obviously a very early conversion when all of the playing around with the "44 Supermag/Ultramags" was going on. It will shoot 445, but not sure it is really safe considering the chamber being that much larger diameter.
Going to make more brass from 444 Marlin and see how it does. Nice custom gun, but wasn't what I was led to believe it was. Wanted a single action to go along with the DW's.
Probably will send it to Gary Reeder and have him make a proper cylinder for it.
Just thought some might like to know about this. Kind of fits in the early 445 history of getting the caliber to where it was standardized to what it is.
