When i wanna shoot all day this is my gun of choice. Its my Rem New Army replica 44 cap + ball. My plinkin load is 20 grs by volume Triple 7 powder under my own lubed wads + my home cast 135 gr. .454 balls...dam i guess its really a .45..lol. I also use Pyrodex P 50% of the time. With a 35 gr. load it chronys at 1125 FPS. This is the gun i carry most when hiking the 1200 acres of hills + hollows round me..( thanks neighbor ) . Sometimes i carry my Uberti 1873 Cattleman replica...same cal. + load as the Rem. Anyways i put bout 150 shots thru my Rem. this past weekend. I have 5 or 6 steel plates + gongs of different sizes at 25 - 80 yrds distant, the largest is 18 " plow disc at 80 yrds. My Rem has no problem smakin it 4-5 outta 6 shots. There are a few mods you can do to make these guns way more accurate and reliable if you think you have a dud. Mine shoot 1.5 " groups at 25 yrds. Ok any of you fellas like shooting the soot-burners ?

I have a soot burner. 1860 Army replica by Uberti. Shoots about 12" high at 25 paces. Not a nad group, just real high. We use 3f, I think 25-gr. but I would have to double check. I also have a Dragoon that we have shot a few times. Those revolvers are a lot of fun, until it comes to time to clean them. Any help on assembling a taller front sight on the Army would be appreciated.
