Some of you already know I purchased a Charter Arms Target Bulldog 357 Mag a couple of months ago.  Since then, my wife got her Permit to Carry and I bought her a Charter Arms Southpaw 38 Spl.  We made these purchases at Valley Firearms in Shelton, CT.  The Southpaw model was out of stock, but Charter Arms put one together for this purchase in just 2 days.  The owner of Valley Firearms told me we might be able to get a tour of Charter Arms, which is about 3 blocks away.  After a brief call, we were off to see Charter Arms.  They have 23 employees, and make about 400 handguns per month.  Nice little operation.  We saw the various machines, one I wanted to see was the roll stamper or marker, whatever it's called.  I saw the roller with the words on them that get rolled into the barrel.  We also saw the cleaning room and the assembly room.  Both my wife and I got a Tee shirt, stickers and brochures.

On one of the gun shows recently they did a tour of the Charter factory which I thought was pretty cool.

Sounds like a fun day. Valley is a nice shop too, I've never bought a gun there, but I pass through every few months when I'm making an extended FunShop Tour.

I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

No pics allowed, probably trying to protect their interests.  Some research going on!

Mox.  That is a cool experience I am sure.  They have an intereseting line of revolvers in assorted colors and configurations.  They have decided to seek the carried revolver market with a passion.

Very cool that they allow tours, I would love to tour a firearm plant like that someday.

Although I don't currently own any Charter Arms revolvers, being left-handed I admire any company that produces left-hand specific products.

In the late 70's my cousins bought a Charter Arms bulldog .44 spl. and a .38 to match. I have a. C.A. 38 spl snub nose. I like it. There was a complaint about the larger calibers damaging the frame in the 70's. I would feel sure they fix that problem. Enjoy it.

Wondering what makes it LH?  Nice looking piece for non Dan.  The tour I am sure would be pretty cool to see where your CA was built and to meet those that built it.  Thanks  for shareing!!

The cylinder release button is on the right side of the frame and the cylinder pushes out the right side so you can load with your right hand while holding the gun with your left hand.

BTW, Leftys have rights too!!!  That is the slogun on one of their tee shirts.

My wife is also a lefty.. her shirt read:

Lefty handed people are in their RIGHT brain.

or something to that effect

Great looking CA... someone was asking about US built guns and I was the first/only one to speak up for CA.

Soap Box, Ballot Box, Ammo Box

in that order.

I'd like to get one of these .327 Mag Patriot models, I've been interested in that caliber for a while now.

And of course, a .44 Special would be fun, too.laugh
