I never knew of such a thing. Saw one today, an 8" in (of course, since it caught MY eye) Bright Nickel. Really good condition, terrific SA, heavy but very smooth DA, although all DA's seem heavy after a DW. A little research leads me to believe that a Trooper .22 8" in Nickel is fairly uncommon, kind of wish I had some extra $$$ available.
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

I have a 6" blued Trooper III 22 LR and the action is very smooth! I've I'm not mistaken they offered the Trooper III in blue, bright nickel and electroless nickel which is more of a brushed mat finish. Seems like the Trooper III's are the most affordable of the Colts these days but even they seem to be edging higher!
I've only had mine out once and it seem to have some excessive leading on from of the cylinder. Not sure what causes that so next time I will try some plated bullets.

Sometimes I forget how cool it is to be able to cruise (literally) a dozen gunshops and six indoor ranges (including one with Class III rentals), all within an hour. Local maunfacturers include Colt, Smith & Wesson, Charter Arms, U.S. Firearms, Stag.
