Took this pic for ins. purposes so it is not the best res. I really enjoy shooting all of these. Nice thing is I can reload all the center fire from the same shell plate and die set. The SW Model 52 is extremely accurate at the 25 yard range very good at the 50 also. The non heavy Dan is probably a tad more accurate than the other all though this is not do to the shroud, just the base gun itself I would think. Then again, it could just be me. I do have a LER 2-6X scope mounted on another shroud not shown here along with 4 other grips for the DWs so I can stay away from same o, same o pretty easily. Guns are: 2 Model 15s (8″), Buckmark target, S&W 52-1.

That Model 52 is the .38 wadcutter model isn't it? I saw one at Cabela's, but I was a little put off by the price and ammo availability (I don't reload anymore).

I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

Yes, it is a .38 wadcutter only pistol. The price on these are pretty steep these days. I jumped on this one at the local sporting goods store a number of years ago. It came with the original box and manual. It also came with 2 additional mags and a gallon sized plastic bag of .38 shells. I think I paid $450 for the package. Mine is pretty picky when it comes to reloads, you must insure the wadcutter is seated just right and a slight but noticeable crimp must be applied. While at the local indoor, my shooting buddy was to sighting in his Hi power, he had just bought a custom target barrel for it. After his best group of an inch and a half, I said “try this one” he shot three rounds out of the 52, reeled back the target and saw one ragged hole dead center ten ring, he was dumbfounded. He was happy to see it was not his shooting ability and I was a little jealous!
