Oh, so I see from these postings that the Government's plan to desensitize us to the possible threat of a Zombie Infestation in the upcoming apocalypse (12/20/12) means of Mass Media Programing ( Movies, Video Games, etc. ) has worked. Excellent...excellent.
So for some of you folks are not Sheeple and have not fallen for the Government's scheme. Also you have given some thought to defending yourselves with the proper firearm in this case, the 22lr rifle.
Any other caliber would do the job but how many rounds could we be using? Inner city folks like myself could be facing thousands of those Undead Hordes just in our own neighborhoods. Sure I'd like to use my AR or Shotgun but ammo prices as they are would eat up my stash quickly. Sure 10mm, 44mag, 40cal S&W, 357mag and the other pistol calibers would do a great job too. But this all goes back to what you can use and carry easily.
The 10/22 is a fine choice in this matter as are other the other 22lr firearms. In my case I've chosen the GSG5 22lr. With a red dot and forward hand grip and 8 22rd mags I can keep those smelly dead Zombies at bay from my roof top. As for a side arm I have the Ruger MKI 22lr heavy bbl target pistol with 10, 9rd mags. With a large stash of 22lr ammo and dried and canned food and a bottled water supply I'm ready for them.
Then again in case that event never happens I guess I can go camping and plinking for a year so I won't look silly with all of this stuff.
You never know.

Hello spikey, please stop by New Members and tell us a little bit about yourself and your shooting life. My son was in Philadelphia for a couple years, I've enjoyed a few breakfasts at the Oregon Diner, do you know it?
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

well here's some of my choices for "zombies". the fifty i have been shooting/using since '91. this one is the army's, i started with the SASR the Marine version whilst with them. a tight one is capable wayyyy beyond the specified range.
an ak i grab up as soon as i get boots on ground...wherever. they make a great sleeping companion....and i slept near the door. we lived in a town, not base. a thirty round mag dump on full auto is nice and controllable.
the 40mm grenade with the smiley face is a "less" than lethal round. actually nerf like. but it goes right through car windows and dents doors. i plunk them at the ground infront of personell, on the bounce it doesnt draw blood.
the m4 with acog is sweet!!!! alot of urban sniper work was done with that. the 14.5 inch barrel hurt velocity and fmj suck anyway, but she was heavy enough for quick follow ups.
electric device to the bottom right of first pic is a shot detection system. similar to what LA has in place in certain neighborhoods. when recieving rounds if gives distance and direction. obviously not needed during an attack, but great for pop shooters. and not needed for zombies anyway.
next pic is for nighttime. the $30k night scope is sweet...and the "can" makes it so ya won't be found too easily. its 308...with hollow point boattails. (m118)
last pic is for woods near the home in case the zombies come over the mountain..i have shot a woodchuck at 440 with this setup already and i would assume zombies further?
in the home my wife has a ladysmith, always, and i have some pieces all about the house. and an ar-15 with 2-7X burris on it and plenty of loaded mags.
some friends and i usually discuss "zombies". a friend of mine has the zombie survival guide and all.
and yes i even have a stash of supplies to weather an event. and even a "go" bag packed and ready to go. my wife even has directions and routes in case i am not with her during the zombie uprising.
i don't think i'm whacky...? just kinda prepared for contingencies?
p.s. zombies= any crowd/riot of unruly lowlifes.....or infected mindless zombies

thought i'd add some more to the zombie pile. notice the smiley on the compensator. that rifle is actually the wife's deer rifle. (i know Pa no semi, she is handicap and allowed a semi blocked to 4 rounds.)
