Hey guys, I just acquired a High Standard .22 cal 2-1/2" snub nose from a gentleman in my church. He's 92 and said he purchsed it 5 years ago from someone he knows. Some surface rust but not too bad. He didn't sell it to me yet, but may if I am interested. It is a nine shot and the cylinder rotates opposite direction to what all other revolvers I have seen. The hammer has the firing pin on the hammer as you'll see in the pics below. Please give me any thought / info you may have.

John Stimson, who is a Member here, is tremendously knowledgeable on High Standards, take a look here to get started:

I've never owned a High Standard revolver, I have experience with their Sharpshooter and Victor autoladers, and they are very fine pistols.
There is also a pretty good High Standard Forums on Rimfire Central
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

Yes, the cylinder frame and grip frame/trigger guard are die cast aluminum alloy.
This is the Sentinel Snub model from the R-108 design series. 1,993,870 shipped 10/31/1968. The R-108 series was introduced in mid 1967 and this model replaced a similar 2.38" barreled Sentinel from the R-103 design series
