My AR-15 is finally complete, built for me by my son as a mulitple combination birthday/ Christmas/Father's Day, etc. gift. Over the past year and a half parts have been arriving for me as they have become available. DPMS lower handbuilt by him, Ace Skeleton Stock (CT still has the AWB, so no collapsible), LaRue Tactical front/back BUIS, and the long awaited DPMS Panther Sweet 16" Bull Barrel (stainless bead blast with target crown) on an A3 Upper with a freefloat tube.
I have shot this with a different upper and it was very accurate in the hands of a newbie rifle shooter. Some kind of scope/red dot will eventually fill that space on the top rail, and I'm planning to mount a bipod too.
edit to update to a MUCH better picture
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

Well, I did just get 1000 rounds of Federal .223. It was pointed out to me that then I would have plenty of brass available for reloading.
16" is a nice length, and the heavy profile barrel makes it feel nice and solid.

I like the Bushmaster AR-15. A lot of the other manufactures are just as good or better depending on who you talk to. Here is a pic of mine with a 5 round clip for deer hunting. it has a 3 inch compensator on it and a lighted reticle scope. I have about several 30 round clips.

FloridaDWCollector, I wanna come to your house and play!!! Looks like one for every day of the month plus a few extras for friends! Nice looking group of AR's.
Steve the Home built gift is way cool waiting to hear more about how it with all the add ons!
Here's the Primary Arms M4 style Red Dot, a nice inexpensive sight with 4 different reticle styles
And the Barska 3-9 scope with lighted reticle
I have been accumulating 30 round P Mags and it's in a nice carry bag. Next is a bipod, but I specifically did not want the quad rail fore end, because I knew I'd never stop buying stuff to put on it. The whole time he was overseas he would order parts, ship them home, and when he got home on leave he built it up.

Nice AR. If you plan on shooting long range, a nice two stage trigger helps out immensely. I started off with a standard trigger in my build set up for varmints. I shot a friend's with the Rock River trigger and immediately bought one. It's the difference between night and day. Not hard to install either. The nice thing about an AR also, is all you have to do is get different uppers and its like having multiple guns without the hassle of buying a new gun.
Without a beard you are no different from any woman or child.
