Not really interested in getting one as I am happy with the 22's I have already but would still like to hear a report on the Taurus 922 22lr/22mag when you eventually get it. A double action convertable revolver is a good concept at least if quality and accuracy is up to par.

The Browning 1911-22 is a scaled-down version similar in size to the Colt .380 auto frame. There are several other 1911 .22lr guns out there that use the same frame size as as the .45acp (Chiappa, Umarex). Browning is the only one that has shrunk it down to a nice compact frame more proportionate to the .22lr cartridge.

I am a little confused on the Browning. A 10+1 shot .22.lr the size of a 7+1 shot .380. Not a target gun, not much of a self defence gun, so what is it?
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

Probably a "practice cheaply and become good with a gun that shoots 22's yet still feels like your .45" sort of gun. Rather like what dan wesson's 22 revolver was to their 357 magnum revolvers. Such guns do serve a useful purpose as well as being useful in the same roles a smaller 22 might be used for.

It's just a fun .22 plinker that is light, compact, balances great in your hand and is cheap to shoot. Comparable pocket .22 auto's formerly and currently manufactured would be the Walther PPK and P22, Beretta 21 and 87, Llama III-A, Bersa Firestorm and Thunder .22, and so on. One of my favorite trail guns is the Beretta 87.

Agreed - I like the concept as well. It's the only DA convertible out there and I'm curious about its performance.

One of only two Taurus guns I have owned was a model 92 in stainless. The gun was nice enough with respectable quality and good fit and finish. However the trigger was horrendous. I think to get reliable primer ignition, Taurus had to use heavy springs which resulted in a very hard trigger. Pulling the hammer back to shoot single action was a (literal) pain as well. I tried lighter Wolff springs but the gun would misfire in double action. I'm a big fan of .22LR but sold the 92 as it was just not fun to shoot.
I hope Taurus was wise enough the redesign the trigger in their new model 922.

love the beretta 87. i have one i keep as a loaded house gun. at anyone that might think that's funny, i can consistantly put a few quick shots into a face sized target at room distances so it can easily serve as a defensive handgun as can any 22 if you are a good enough shot.
