The wife expressed an interest in a small handgun, I'm trying to get her to go for her permit. I handled a few LCPs at the show over the weekend and I liked the feel of the gun. Its very small but thats a good thing for a carry gun IMO. Anybody have one, or shot one? How is it for reliability, accuracy. I don't she needs the Zombie Killer green print one or the one with the builtin laser. I doubt in an emergeny situation anyone is going to remember to turn on the laser let alone have time, and as short as the barrel is I doubt its likely to be used at over 5-7 yards, plenty close enough to hit what you aim at.
Prices seemed good at around $295-315 show pricing.
Two things I didn't like were the black front sight blade (a little paint could fix that) and the lack of a take down lever, you got to pry out a pin. Also, no slide hold open on last shot.
Anything worth doing is worth doing well.

They are a handful, the light weight of them is somewhat wild to shoot. My big ole hands handled it well as did my gal.
We did grab the LCR 38+P same with it and the +p's let you know you have shot something. up close and personal I think they would defuse a situation well.
For a small carry gun with a touch more power than the .380, plus all steal I like the Polish P64. 6+1, reasonable priced a hoot to shoot!

I have the LCP and the LC9. The LC9 is really worth a few dollars more. It has an external safety, slide stop on last shot and 7+1 and a bit larger, better sights also. (not to mention it is a 9mm and cheaper ammo) I went to GunBrokers and found a brand new one for $279.95 plus $25 shipping and $15 transfer fee. There was about 6 pages and I found the cheapest one. They were priced to well over $400 so do your search. Both of them go bang when you pull the trigger. I also have the LCR and it's nice but only 5 shots.

Scorpio,
I have not shot an LCP, but have friends who own them, they all say as Dave did they are pretty snappy on recoil due to light weight. But all seem to be happy with function and reliability.
I was looking at LCPs for myself as a ccw, I ended up picking up a used Micro Desert Eagle which so far I love! It is as small as LCP but a tad heavier due to its alloy frame, but still lightweight. So far function is perfect, accuracy at 10 yds offhand is good. No slide lock open, but very few in this size class will have that. Takedown is simple, requires no tools or even mechanical ability. Sights are hard to see (mine is all nickel, they also come in blue) but I consider it a point-and-shoot ccw, not a target weapon. Retail price is higher than LCP, but I got mine used (looked new) for about the price of a new LCP. And I get to tell my friends I own a 'Desert Eagle'. Oh, and they are made in the USA.
Hope you don't mind me hijacking your thread a bit, Scorpio.
