Picked this Ruger #1 up this last weekend at the gun show... one because the price was right, two because it is kind of an oddball... I've seen .223 model 1's, but not in a light barrel.
It is really a model 1-AB -- 22" light barrel with no sights.
From what I can tell this variety was only offered from 1981-1983. Cool gun and it came with the Redfield old 12x scope on it. Should make for a fun project gun--I'll work on making it a tack-driver.

Nice catch Shoot! I have the .223 in the Varmint version, very neat gun.

Shoot, I bet that will be a fun gun to play with. And it's purty too, #1's always look like a classy rifle to me.

That's a real beauty. I love the Ruger #1 design. I had a 300 magnum Ruger #1 one time [kicked to hard]. I would love to have one in a .243. The older design has some beautiful wood like yours. Enjoy shooting that bad boy.
