But since then I have bought two more in 1911 platforms. I bought a custom made Fusion Firearms long slide just because I wanted that extra one inch. Then I bought an RIA Tac II because it was only $500 NIB and I figured I would practice with that and save the wear and tear on my other two expensive ones.
But I still love the Wesson, because it lets me do stuff like THIS!

I have only shot 10mm once, in a Glock
It is a fairly aggressive caliber, I think a full size steel 1911 should work well for this.
10mm in a Glock was more than I would like to shoot with any regularity, but realistically, it's probably tamer than a full house .357 in 4"
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

I've had a GLOCK G20 Gen4 10mm for just over a year, the experience all depends on the ammo your using. Lower powered ammo like PPU 180g feels the same or less than 40S&W
A truely HOT 10mm round like they sell at Underwood Ammo is an entirely different experience. Sounds more like a rifle being shot than a handgun ...it will make you grin 🙂

If you want some fun with a 10mm, try some handloads. I was at our local indoor range firing off some 180gr FMJ's I loaded up with Blue Dot out of my Gen2 Glock 20. Not max loads, but they were pretty stout. The counter commando that manages the place comes running into the range going "Whoa Whoa Whoa" wanting me to stop shooting. I had to show him I was shooting a 10mm, He thought I was shooting something too large for their range. After he left, I had a good laugh.
