Had to go to a small local trade show in Frisco TX today (always fun working on Sat.) which is about 60 or so miles away. I don't get over that way too much anymore so I decided to dodge the toll roads and all the d*** road construction by coming home the "back way". Drove past a pawn shop and suddenly remembered I got a couple of good deals there in the past. So did a U turn (mostly legal here..another good reason to live in TX) and pulled in.
I've been looking for a .22 revolver, preferably a 722, but those are kind of sparse. He had this Taurus M992SS4 in the case. I've looked at these and they seem to be running between 450 and 550. He claimed it was new. After I wiped the powder residue from the .22lr cylinder, he admitted he hadn't look too closely.
Long story short, I got this nice, very slightly used 4" .22lr/.22mag revolver for $375 out the door. Upon closer inspection, the .22mag cylinder has never been used.

It certainly seems to be very solid. Good fit and finish. Harly is right, that push button cylinder change is super fast and easy. Sure makes cleaning easy. I expect good things. I've owned Taurus products in the past with no problems. I have one of their PT709 Slim and it's a nice little carry piece.
Luckily Ron, I have some 22LR. I shudder to think what price I would have to pay to get some from Steve!
Hoping to hit the range next weekend.

Now this kind of statement is just harsh!
I am more than willing to share some of my diminishing .22 lr stash (I have not seen any .22 lr for sale locally for much less than the cost of centerfire ammo) once even one of these parameters are met:
1) America elects a non-Socialist President
2) My paycheck catches up to my bills (see #1 above)
3) Porcine animals achieve unassisted flight originating from my ...(well, you get the idea)
On the other hand, once I figure out how to ship ammunition without incurring massive extra fees, I will put together a Care Package. I am more than willing to help a Brother (literally, my Brother) out.
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

Steve- I think I saw one fly, however the point of origin was a bit different... I ship ammo ORM-D through UPS Ground. Send it here and I can drive it up to him ....
What kind of fees are involved?

Standard Ground Shipping with UPS; just needs to be marked.
Technically, the glass is always full; half liquid, half air....

I have waived all of these requirements and sent out about 1000 rounds, 500 rounds of my BVAC shooter grade range ammo and some 50 rd boxes of other stuff.
I'm a strong believer in trying many different brands/varieties of .22 lr. Every .22 lr I've ever owned/shot (and that number is over a dozen) has a favorite brand/variety. Once I find the right one, I try to stock up.
My favorite, all around .22 lr is Federal Auto Match, I lucked into 2 boxes recently, and I am hoarding it
