Okay guys I have been watching all of you guys post cool pictures of these Sporting Arms Single Actions and am starting to feel left out!  After shooting my 740 last weekend I thought it might be cool to have one in 357 Max.  Well today I run out to drop my wife's laptop off at her work and obviously have to swing by my favorite shop.  Well there in the case is a Seville in 357 Max priced at $895 got him down to $780 before leaving but that still sounds high to me.

What do you guys think?  It looks like a 10" barrel and stainless with some handling marks but the action felt awesome!

Jody,

I do not own one in that Cal.  but that may be a bit strong if it has many marks, otherwise it is close to what the market is apparently dictating.  I paid around that for my 375 awhile back.  One way to look at them is that they are about half price of a Freedom Arms but on equal to the price of a new BFR.  You have to decide at that point how you feel about it.

I have an AR15 I bought off of my brother-in-law that I think might need to go to make room for this one... I really liked the feel of it.  It was much lighter than I was expecting.

My brother in law needed the money so I bought that AR15 off of him.  I just don't care for them... I was just holding on it to it do to the current political environment.

I don't think this one will move fast so I think I have time to think on it.

Thanks for the price check!

Hi Jody,

It appears $750 or more is about what I've seen the Seville's going for on the auction sites. My first Seville was the .357 Max, and it is a wonderful shooter. I think the long cylinders look great on them, and they all had nice factory trigger jobs, 2 pounds or less. I would go for it at that price, it might clean up real nice like CF's .454.

Yeah baby!Cool  Laugh

Personally, for $780, it would have been hard for me to leave it behind, if it's as clean as you're saying...well maybe not so hard today, since my wallet's currently a whole lot lighter.lol2

A .357 Maxie Seville is next on my want...err...NEED list, so if for whatever reason you change your mind...Drool ...wait, I'm forgetting about my wallet. 😛

I need to move that AR15 in order to do it... I have to drive up to Baltimore tomorrow morning so it will be the end of the week before I can take the AR out there to see what I can get for it on trade.

So am I crazy to get rid of the AR?  I honestly have no desire to shoot this gun again so from that perspective I'm good.

It depends on whether you'll want one again after they ban them.  I bought a couple because my sons like them.  I figured now or maybe never.

Here's a gorgeous one in .375SM.  Glad it's not .357SM.  My wife would kill me.  One good thing, I got the last piece (a lens) I want for my Nikon collection today for about 1/2 of what it's worth, still a big portion of that gun price.

Whew, escaped USAAS. laughing

It's no secret that I'm a handgunner only, but I have an AR coming eventually, and I will be picking up a 12 GA "Closet Gun" at some point in time as well. I just want to be alble to reach out touch someone, should the need ever arise. Also, good point on the rebirth of the AWB. I will likely only ever fire them enough to stay familiar and validate functionality, but I want them to pre-empt anyones ability to say I can't have one in the future. You might trade this one, I'd plan to have and keep one someday.

I love my DW's but none of them are my "go to" for SD/HD.

I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

I'll concur with Steve on the SD/HD issue.  My love of DW's is BIG guns and they are not the security type.  I like my Glock 23 and S&W airlight .32 for those purposes

I dunno...if you were to point the barrel of that 10" 445 SM in some intruder's face, he would probably shoot mud down both legs!Surprised hehelol2

I'm with these guys, Jody. If the AR just doesn't do it for you, you may as well swap it for something that does. Life's short, you may as well get stuff you like while you're here. Cool

I've got several rifles (Remington 788 .243, Remington 700 .280  and a Ruger 77 .22-250) so I have the range covered.  Also have an assortment of shotguns and for SD/HD I either use my DW 15 with the 2.5 (nightstand gun) or my CZ75-P01 / DW CBOB as my in car traveling gun.

I'm on the fence on this one...  I'll give it some thought over the next couple of days!

I'm not in the Market, but you might do better here on that AR. In my area, trade in is always about half what I think it's worth. Give it a try here first, maybe?

I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.
