There are several versions of the gun and different models. I've not figured out exactly how to tell them all apart (Yugo, Chinese, Russian, etc.) Mine is the Chinese version and has the safety and I think the Chinese all used 9mm.
I've seen several different grip styles on them. Mine is a little thicker and fits my hand nicely. I've also seen another set of grips that are even thicker than mine.

I had a Chicom SS in 9mm. swapped it for a Beretta in 40 cal..
My dad brought back a Russian, from his days in Germany, had a ruff time finding ammo in the early years (none in the states) 7.62x25. Now it is in his bed side table. Ammo is everywhere! I thought about picking another up though not sure which of the imports would be better. Tons of Romanian and Yugoslavian at gun shows!
I have a 9mm mag if anyone would need it!
