Got this in my email today.

I'm pretty sure Remington bought out Marlin, the Marlin shop in Connecticut is closing it's doors. They are moving somewhere else (hopefully).

I dunno…if I'm reading that right, it sez that Remington is merely marketing & distributing those for E-RPC. Who the heck is E-RPC?
Better not be Chinese, Tiawanese, Cambodian, Vietnamese, Japanese, or any other similar suspects, or I ain't the slightest bit interested.
*EDIT* Woops...ok, I sucked down some more coffee...looks like it's probably made in New York. 😀 That's better.

From what I've read in the local newspaper Remington is closing the Marlin plant in Conn. They will still continue the Marlin line but the fight is ongoing whether it will go to Ilion NY plant or North Carolina.
The new 1911 pistol is built in the Ilion NY plant. But I'm not sure how many of the parts are out sourced.

That's pretty attractive right there.
However, if I was serious about buying, I'd have to first find out how much of this gun is actually made in New York. If it's one of these "Assembled in the US with (whatever country) parts", then forget it.
BTW, please pardon the cautious & pessimistic attitude (& the mild rant), but I've had it up to here with what all the outsourcing, undercutting and foreign buy-outs has done & still does to our country. I try to buy American first whenever I can & only cave in when there's no other option. With 1911's, there's plenty of options...

I think most of us here try to do the same too. So your rant is well received and appreicated!!!
