I must admit I've been hearing great things about the Dan Wesson for a number of years, so I was really looking forward to the first outing.
I was shooting mild 357 reloads, I don't like shooting maximum loads on my guns. Barrel gap set to .006". Barrel nut snug. Shooting from a bench barrel rest.
With the first couple of shots and the 8" barrel I was not pleasantly surprised. The bullets impacted 3" Left, 2" low at 20 yards. I cranked the rear sight over to the left, to the stop. No relative change in impact point.
The 6" barrel was not much better. 5" left, but on elevation.
Any thoughts?

Well the groups don't look so bad. Maybe I misunderstood what you did but when adjusting a rear sight you should move the rear sight in the direction you want the bullet to move. So If I understood what you did you moved the sight in the wrong direction. Keep at it and I am sure you will find the sweet spot.
