Andrew (freerider 04) and I had a pretty nice day recently at my local club. He's home on leave, and brought along a Ruger MK II (his first gun), a 10-22, and a High Standard Sharpshooter. I contributed my Buckmark, ammunition, and targets (and of course, the range)
The MK II is one that he and I did a Volquartsen upgrade on together many years ago
The 10-22 is a rifle I gave him when he lived in TX, heavily customized now to the extent that only the receiver still exists (Volquartsen trigger group, TacSol heavy barrel, composite stock, etc.
The Sharpshooter was a TX gun show pickup, he called me from the gun show on a Saturday afternoon, I advised him to Buy Now!
Everything shot well, the 10-22 was shooting well inside 1" at 50 feet for me, and I am not a rifle shooter
Sharpshooter shot well, very picky on ammo
MK II and Buckmark just shot the lights out, cheap range ammo not withstanding
My local club (.22 lr only, 50 ft) is old, a little cold and drafty until the propane furnace gets going, hand crank to send and return targets, dirt floor on the range, outside Porta Potty ...
OTOH, my local club is a mile from home, Members come and go as they wish (you get your own key), and $125/year to shoot whenever I want.
We are going again later this week.
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

Actually, I think tomorrow after he gets home from hunting (early AM bow hunting for deer) we may be going again to for a little "Buckmark -vs- MK II" face off

That 722 is a great gun, but I just never really warmed up to .22 lr in a revolver, and just never shot it enough.
This one rides in the trunk (in a lock box) with targets, ear protection, several hundred rounds of .22 lr ALL THE TIME. Every day can be Range Day

I still love my old MKII. In fact, I'll bet you a box of ammo (.357, .22 lr, 9mm, 5.56 or .45 ACP) that young eyes and an old MKII beats your tired old eyes and that fancy newer Buckmark on steroids!

if you find one...what's your plan?
