Took out two of the big boys yesterday. Both have 8" barrel and I can shoot the 741 well. I can also get the 7445 to group well but impact is high, so I need to get back out and tinker with the rear adjustable sight. I was shooting lighter loads of Hi-Tek coated 210 Grain Lead Cast in the 741 and with an 8" VH barrel recoil is easy to handle. In the 7445 on the other hand I was shooting super loads of 300 grain Hornady HPs with a fill 32 grains of A1680 and those bad boys really thump. I have the EWK fiber optic site on the 7445 and will probably order more as I really like the sight picture with the green fiber optic.
“We cannot but pity the boy who has never fired a gun; he is no more
humane, while his education has been sadly neglected.”
-Henry David Thoreau
“When some of my friends have asked me anxiously about their boys, whether
they should let them hunt, I have answered, yes – remembering that it was
one of the best parts of my education – *make* them hunters.”
-Henry David Thoreau
