I am a new member to this forum, having just acquired my first Dan Wesson. I wanted to get a report out sooner, but I put range time aside in order to attend the NRA convention in Nashville. (Great time, spent too much money, but that's a different topic for a different day.)
Anyway, I have only shot in an indoor range maybe 3 times in my life. A new range opened up near my home, and I always like to support family owned businesses, so I swung by the new range today to get some more rounds thru my ECO.
I only have around 150 rounds through this gun, so it is still in the break-in period. I am experiencing failures to return to battery, but the owner's manual says this is common and to be expected. And yes, I am running it wet, and clean and oil after every 50 rounds. (BTW, this gun is a piece of cake to disassemble and reassemble. This is coming from a female with a fair amount of arthritis in my hands!)
Allowing for the glitches during break-in, all in all I love this gun. As I said, I'm a female with weak hands and a bit of arthritis, but this gun is so smooth, recoil is a non-issue. I really like the Trijicon sights.
I have only really been shooting regularly for about 18 months, so this gun is a real confidence builder. Attached is one of my targets from tonight, from 10 yards. The rounds on the bottom resulted from me using a 6 o'clock hold. When i used a center hold I was pretty much on the money. The lone shot at 12:00 is classic case of this shooter "jumping the trigger".
Can't wait to get out and get some more rounds through this gun!
