My youngest daughter is on spring break this week so we took advantage of the fine weather and ran over to the local public range not far from our home yesterday. Got there early since I knew it would fill up fast because of the beautiful day we had. I always take along a selection of Dan's for her to try out, usually something light weight up to the big boys (SM's). She usually shoots .22, 32 H&R, and 357, sometimes she will try out a .41 mag or a .44 mag but she has never expressed any interest in any of the Supermags, until yesterday. I took my Palmer VH-S5 445 and some decent mid range loads (29gn H110 under 240gn FMJ). I figured I'd shoot that and let her enjoy the 32 and 357 which she did. But then she asks me if she can try the 445. Now let me explain that my youngest weighs in at about 100 lbs soaking wet, and is 5'2" and the SM weighs in at about 4 lbs empty. I loaded two rounds and said 'try this' expecting her to shy away from the blast and recoil. She fired those two rounds and then asked if she could shoot a full cylinder to which I said SURE! I must say that I was very proud of her, she handled the stout recoil and weight of that gun with no problem. She even managed decent accuracy with it! She's a natural shooter and I was frankly amazed that she liked the 445, so much so that she burned through most of the ammo I brought along for it. I have some video of her on my phone but can't figure out how to get it to upload.
She also liked shooting my CCO 45acp.
After the 445 and CCO she told me that the 32 felt like a .22 by comparison. I may have spoiled her. Anyway I'll post a pic until I can manage to upload a video. Pic is her with my 32 H&R. It was rather funny, the smallest shooter at the range was shooting the largest hand cannon there. I does get everyone's attention when you shoot it
BTW, I had the opportunity to meet a fellow Dan Wesson shooter breaking in his new Vbob and possibly our newest member bugsy917! It was a very good day.

She did color guard for a few years in HS and is so flexible its not funny. I thought her stance was a bit different myself but it works for her so I let it go. She needed that rear leg brace for the recoil on the 445. Bruce, I posted the video on my FB page but can't figure out how to load it here. Its a fun vid to watch.
