Sorry, that should read "Made it", After an almost 18 Month hiatus. (fixed it- rwsem)
Life, COVID restrictions open/closed range & so on.
I stunk (as expected).
But, a couple of things.
I Finally got to try the "new" to me 4" VH barrel for the 15-2 that I bought on here.
I replaced the factory red front sight with an EWK red fiber-optic, just so it was familiar & gives a very clear sight picture with the home made green rear sight, as that's what I use in the 6" V-H I've had for ever.
I tested the different POA~POI with the 4" & 6" BBLs with a 158 Gr SWC in the 4" .38 Spl @ 900FPS & the 125 Gr JHP @ 1250 in the 6" tube @ 1240 FPS. The slower .38 Spl in the shorter BBL impacted 14" higher than the 357 @ 15 yds. Luckily I have a fair amount of elevation dialed into the rear so it shouldn't be a problem, I just need to calculate the clicks needed to drop it to the same POA as the other load. The "clever idea" is to have a 6" .357 & a 4" .38 Spl! We'll see about that though.
One odd thing.
I have a bunch of different case brands in both Brass & Nickel-plated & have discovered something odd. The nickel sticks in one chamber, the brass with the exact same load does not! Its always the same chamber (I can tell because I've prick-punched the one to its right, discreetly, as that's the tightest gapping chamber when changing barrels.)There are no signs of high pressure & the load is warm, but nowhere near max. The cylinders have all been polished as well. Its sticky enough that it won't extract without bashing the rod with a dowel, but just one tap with a dowel in that open case mouth frees it instantly.
Other than just simply swapping to brass cases any clever ideas what I can do?

I don't load and I am not a great shooter but, I stayed in a Holiday Inn Express once. So, my opinion is that maybe the extra thickness added to the brass by the plating is a factor. That would not explain why it is just one chamber. Perhaps that chamber is a little too large and it let's the case expand and stick. Again, why not the brass case? I have a Taurus 32 mag revolver that Federal cases stick and split but Hornaday nickel plated do not. I attributed it to chambers being too large and Federal cases being weaker than Hornaday. But I am just guessing. My solution was to only use Hornadays. You may have to only use brass., at least in the discretely marked chamber.

That would make perfect sense if it was one brand of ammo.
But its a mix 'n match of many brands.
Its also not the fact that its nickel, because it doesn't happen with nickle-plated .38 Spl!
