Once again I'd like to thank Lonwolf93 and his wife, (who made a delicious hot lunch for us on a cold day), for hosting another fun event at their mountain get away. Even though the weather took a 40 degree drop from the previous day's high of 85 and it felt more like a day in early March, we had a great time shooting and talking about Dan Wesson's. Fortunately the rain held off and it was only a little bit of drizzle.
We were short a few members due to unforeseen circumstances, but we welcomed a new member to our outing, PAbowhunter. Aside from being a friendly and all around nice guy, he is by far one of the best double action shooters I've had the pleasure to shoot with! He made my marksmanship look sad by comparison.
Hopefully we can do this again soon under better weather conditions.
Thanks again Brian and Jen!

I should mention that we were shooting gallon water jugs with the 445 and to say that it destroyed them would be an understatement, they just EXPLODED, basically turned inside out.
I love exploding water jugs! Every range trip, I usually fill up about 30 various jugs with water & set them at varying distances, 6 or 7 at a time. One fun one was an old gallon sized popcorn tin (from last Christmas) full of water, with the lid snapped on...that lid went about 30 feet in the air when my son shot the can with a .44! Another good thing about bringing jugs of water, is that if we light the hillside on fire, we can put it out quickly. So far I haven't had to douse any flames.
Looks like you guys had a great time, love the fireball shots!

It was very kind of Lonewolf93 to invite me to his cabin in the beautifully remote mountains of Perry Co., PA to meet with fellow DW enthusiasts and shoot a treasure trove of firearms. The hot lunch and oatmeal chocolate chip cookies were delightful. I feel fortunate to live close enough to make the trip. It was by far the most enjoyable day of shooting guns I have ever had. Scorpio and Lonewolf93 have impressive collections of DW handguns. I shot guns I had never even heard of in calibers I had never even knew existed. I guess I was not nearly as well versed in firearms as I had thought. It was an education as much as a fun day of shooting.
Lonewolf93 and Scorpio were extremely generous to allow me to shoot the finest firearms I have ever seen. The damp, cold, and windy weather certainly didn't prevent anyone from having a good time. As Scorpio describes, the concussion and report of the BIG BORE guns would cause the collected water to literally shoot off the top of the tent and was really something to see. Shooting that 4" 445 at 1 gallon water jugs was really something and a perfect way to end a great day of shooting!!! Lots of smiles, lots of laughing, lots of good conversation....oh yeah and LOTS and LOTS of shooting.
Thank you Lonewolf93 and Scorpio for including me in the good times. Certainly hope to join you guys next time you decide to have a Sunday funday of PA Range Day.
Much obliged,
Tom- PAbowhunter
