It has been pouring rain up here for weeks now, but I don't let that stop me from getting out and shooting.  We have an international student staying with us and he is going back home to Brazil next week, so I wanted to get him out to the range one more time to try some hand guns.  Civilians are generally not allowed to own guns in Brazil and his parents really liked me taking his son out shooting.

Here is Rapha holding the DW up with the 10" barrel

An old Canadian-made Cooey single shot 12g.  This thing has a decent kick and was made the year Winchester bought Cooey - so it is stamped with both manufacturer's names.

Here was one of my groupings with the DW.  10" barrel, .357 MAG Federal bullets at 10 metres (over 32 feet).  The squares on the target are 1" x 1".

And a little video to show it in action and how hard it was raining:

If I'm firing SS, (not so often), I generally "thumb" the hammer with the non-dominant hand.  Takes some getting used to but after a while seems more natural..  just a thought.

Looked like a great time.

Technically, the glass is always full; half liquid, half air....

Very cool! Excellent job. I bet the young man had the time of his life.

To the paranoid people who check behind shower curtains for murderers:

if you find one...what's your plan?

I work SA the same way and I did try to teach him to do that, but he preferred doing it with his dominant hand.  I figured it may be his only time shooting a revolver, so I let him do as he pleases.  With the DW, I just shoot DA.

It was fun - wet, but fun.  He was smiling all day and night (until I made him help me clean them, then he was a typical teenager and wanted to be on his phone more than getting dirty).

Nah cleaning guns for me, was and is, just as enjoyable as shooting them! Nice to hear that the parents did not freak out about their son handling guns! Nice range by the way! About the dominant hand cocking I do it also and I am not able to kick the habbit as I was shooting for many years in formal 25-meter competitions were double grip was not allowed. I have tried the otherway some times and as may seem right as I'm not changing my dominant hand grip, I just cant get used to it.

I am with Albert on the cleaning. I especially like the first time I clean and polish a new acquisition. It is also much less stressful than shooting.

I love cleaning as well, and I'm always interested in different cleaning tools and cleaners.  So far I have learned that if I use G96, then my wife and kids actually like the smell and I am welcome to clean my guns inside the house during these cold winter months.  :)
