I finally made it to the range today to really try out my Remington PCR in .308 Winchester. Considering that I'm still not at 100% after a bout with the flu last week, I did OK. There a couple of very respectable groups here, but overall--just OK.
The rifle seems to do better as it warms up (just like my Henry in .357 Mag) as the groups tightened up the more I shot it.
Overall, I am pleased, but I can’t wait until my other scope gets back from repair/replace and I am at 100% to find out what this rifle can really do.
The top target is at 50yds for adjusting the scope after bore sighting. The next 3 targets are at 100 yards, 3-shot groups on each target, progressively from top to bottom. On the top and bottom targets, I started with the lower left and worked up to the upper right. For some reason, I did the opposite on the middle target.

That is quite respectable shooting...I would be pleased.
That is one impressive long gun!
Show us what it does with the scope when you get it in.
Years ago, I shot smallbore (.22LR) indoor competitively. At most matched, we were not limited as to how many rounds we had, only how many on target. So, everyone always "threw_ several round down range in the backstop, to heat up the barrel, then go on target.
If you're going to drink, don't drive. Don't even putt.

I went back to the range the other day (Tuesday) to shoot my Remington Precision Chassis Rifle in 308 Winchester. I did much better this time since I’m feeling much better and I have a rear rest to steady the rifle. There are some very good groups here. I am very pleased, but I can’t wait until my other scope gets back from repair/replace (should ship today or tomorrow).
All targets are at 100 yards, 3-shot groups on each target. I’m not showing the first target, as it was to get the rifle warmed up for some serious shooting (as I said before, this rifle does better as it gets warmer).
The loads I tested were:
Nosler Custom Competition 175gr with 43.3gr Varget (target #2)
Hornady Match 178gr with 42.5gr Varget (target #3)
Hornady A-Max 168gr with 43.0gr Varget (target #4)
The best group of .35 was with the Nosler CC 175gr.
Worst group of 1.55 was with the Hornady Match 178gr.

I'm interested to see how the PCR performs a little further out, like 300-yards.
Right now our range only goes to 140 yards max. We did purchase another 40 acres adjacent to our range and will be building a 300 and 500 yard range, but that is not going to be ready for at least 8 months to a year from now. I've been looking for a longer range locally and it seems the closest 300-500 yard range is about 120 miles from here. There is a 200 yard range about 35 miles from here, so I may try that when I get the 100 yard groups more consistent.
