Frankly, it's been a while since I've done any shooting except at my little local club (indoor, 50 foot Bulls Eye rimfire only). No good reason for that, except maybe not having someone to shoot with. Today I spent the afternoon with the best "shooting buddy" an man can have, our son.
Andrew (freerider04 on DWF) is a USCG Gunners Mate First Class, and he is home for the first time in two years. Mom sent us off today to go shooting, so we headed to local indoor range with a variety of toys. After punching paper with a DW PM-1S, a 15-2 4VH, S&W Model 59, and the old SA Champion that he refinished and built up/fitted/tuned for me a few years ago, we broke out the "Fun Gun" of the day, the Henry Big Boy .357 Lever Action that my brother gave me a while ago.
I'm NOT a rifle guy, this was so damn much fun to shoot we both had huge 
He does have a lever action (or two?), when handed it off to me, he smiled and said "you are going to love this", and I DID!
The day with my son, shooting the rifle my brother gave me... one of the BEST days I can remember!
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

Can't beat father and son time together, Steve. Add Dws and a Henry and you got great lasting memories 
Had my Henry 44 out today also and did some trap shooting, for my 1st time, but I'll let you bask in your glory and post my report tomorrow. 6 hrs private land for N/C

Actually, the next step for the Henry is mounting the 3-9x30 Nikon ProStaff scope that I got a really nice deal on at Cabelas a month ago. Used, it was a "take off" from a rifle they took in on trade for something else.
The best thing about having this rifle is that it gives me twice as many reasons (along with my EBR) to hit the outdoor range and do some distance shooting.
I might be getting closer to becoming a "rifle guy"?
