Had some time this afternoon and took my dad, an Air Force veteran of the Korean War, to the range to get some trigger time with his new S&W bodyguard. His first magazine was way left but he quickly realized what he was doing and corrected and put all his shots on target after that. I thought that was very good since this was his first experience with a striker fired double action only firearm. He noted that the gun is snappy and after abut 40 rounds decided to stop as his hand was getting sore. I brought along my Dan Wesson CCO 45 acp and shot a few rounds and then let dad run some through it for comparison. He hasn't shot a 1911 since Korea but picked it up again quickly. He really liked the trigger on the CCO and was very impressed with it. I may have to let him use it as he really took a liking to that gun.
Here is a pic of his target, outdoors, standing offhand at 10 yards. BTW dad is 85!
I hope I can still shoot this well if I live to be 85.

My son and I have had some really good range days, I often think about how great it would have been to shoot with Dad, even just once.
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.
