I just about didn't post this, cause not near as good of a shot as a lot of you guys, well ok, the majority of you guys/gals. I've been reading a lot of posts, and know nobody embellishes the truth. Right?
But I like to hang around people who are smarter than me, cause that's how I learn.
As you might or might not know, I finally got a DW Valor, my first true 70 series, now I NEED a Government model. So after the break in per DW instructions (field strip, clean, generously lube after 50 rds), couldn't stand the Trijicon's night sites, so replaced them with TruGlo TFX Pro (lo profile Novak for the Gov. model TG13NV1PC). That made a huge difference. Here's the Valor. The round count is 673 and have no idea why I'm keeping a count. Guess, just continued from the break in.
So now the range report.
After getting to the range and did the set up, and placed the targets at 25'. The large rectangle was shot first, then the 10". First 3 shots were in the bulls. The next 4 were getting progressively worse, and after the 7th rd, the TruGlo rear sight was on the ground. Damn the luck. So, lined it according to the firing pin, and tightened. (Of course didn't have any loctite.) Shot a couple of more rds on the big target, and couldn't see where the impacts were, so moved to the 10" target. (Ended up the rd on the big target was at the 6 o'clock position was the first round after tightening, and the other 3 were in the orange.) The 4 at the 7 o'clock position were the first 4 on the 10" target. Checked to see if the rear sight was still tight, was a little loose, so tighten. Then did a 8 rds, which I was pleased. Never did this good.
Granted these were a mere 25' and off a bench rest, but still thought I'd share.
