I just saw an online offer for an AHS Bear Hunter. I know some of you have mentioned owning different revolvers from this series and my question is for you...

This particular revolver has an owner's name and SSN engraved on the top of the barrel rib. The seller believes this was done on all the revolvers in the Hunter Series.

I realize there is a lot of "anything's possible" in the DW pistol family...are your Hunter Series revolvers engraved with original owner's name and SSN?

Thanks for your input.

I sure haven't see that done before, but I suppose it could have been special ordered that way. Was it blued after the guy's name was engraved into it?

Hard to tell from the picture...it looks as if it may have had some type of thin gold leaf applied.

Have a LOOK and see what you think.

It could not have been original. Your SSN is a secret between you and the Social Security Administration. Bhahahaha!!!

Sorry for my tardiness. embarassed

To me, the gun does look like it is probably an AHS creation. But I sure haven't seen any before now with the original owner's name & SS number punched into the shroud like that. If it was done at AHS, it was definitely a special order request, otherwise it was likely done after the fact.

Ole Dog, good one!lol2

Now that is nice, very nice! I do not believe I have ever seen a 3" compensated barrel assembly before.
