Has anyone ever heard of or seen an Alaskan Guide Special - 6" Barrel Compensated? I've seen one recently and believe there might only be two in existence. Was it a special order for an executive or for the family? DW publications, literature, and auctions only ever show a 4" compensated version.

Ron, it is absolutely pristine. I have resisted an AGS for years. I have blue and stainless 445. But that Yukon Coat is the bomb. Not a mark on it. My wife went gaga. She critizes me for buying too many blue Dans. The gunshop is buying trunckloads of guns one at a time from someone. They are filled with Dans and other rare guns. So far they have had 4 JC hybrids, the sequential pair of 6"AGS, and owner says he has a Norwich 22 mag with a very long barrel. 10 or 12". I let him know my interest in that. He is keeping it, for now. More guns to be coming. I suspect it is family or associate of Bob Serva who was there when they cleaned the safe out when he sold to CZ. No Brown bears in Florida so it is going to stay pristine.Â

I'm an AGS fan myself. It's the only Dan I own that is not of the Monson era... does a number on hogs...
