Kind of interesting.  Wish my wallet could tolerate a safe queen like this one.  smile

I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

First time I have ever seen one of these, can't believe 700-were produced and none ever surfaced before?   The only sports figure that I ever followed was Earnhardt, now I just collect guns...  Nonetheless, at $1,000.00 maybe, but a safe queen it is and would not get used so screwy.   Very nicely presented revolver though.

Nice Gun, I really like the dates on the cylinder wink

Sad they put such a poor grip on it and the medallion is one of those

plastic ones confused

I find it hard to believe there were 700 made and we rarely see them... Maybe The Dale estate bought all of them up.

That grip & medallion looks a lot like the one on my 7445. If so, it's metal...pewter I think.

I agree that for having made 700 of them, they sure seem rare. Also, when a limited edition of anything pops up with an even "150" number, it makes me a little skeptical. If it were something like 149 or 151, that would make me think it really is "1 of xx".

That's an awesome looking DW. I,have never seen that commemorative before. I'll bet there are probably other commemoratives out there too.

As I think about, given the size and dedication of Earnhardt's fan base, it wouldn't surprise me if there really are 700 of these.  His fans probably would have bought most of them and those that did probably stuck them in a safe.  If I'm right, the farther we get from his death, the more of these we'll probably see.

There you go, you never know. I've had two grips with all brass looking

medallions and they were both plastic.

That's a good point & you may very well be right. Hopefully a few more of these guns come out of the woodwork. Now if only DW's were still considered "cheap", it would be easier to bring unique ones like these home.wink

In case anyone is interested the Dale Earnhardt Trophy Hunter Commemorative #150 Dan is back on the block. It's the same serial number. Last time sold for $800.
