Gap was .002, cycled fine at that too. I don't think it was a FB because you can still feel a little of the ridge where the barrel nut would seat. Beats me why they added that disk, but the flash guard idea is probably a good possibility. Looks to have been fired with it installed. Maybe the blank rounds are susceptible to flashing off.

That's a pretty unique, and extremely cool 744 you have there Scorpio. Don't think that I have ever seen a Monson VH-3 ported shroud before either. Interesting piece of Hollywood history you've got there, and heck it's even a Dan Wesson! The icing on the cake is that it's functional as well.
