It appears to be well made, but I have never seen nor heard of a DW stock before ... doesn't mean it's not a DW factory piece though.
Does anyone know when the law prohibiting them was created ?

I am only guessing, this may fall under "less than 18 inch barrel"

< 16" barrel and <26" OAL; it would be considered an NFA firearm. $200 tax stamp and non transferable to anyone without a stamp. However, I'm not an attorney....

Definitely an "SBR", but if originally manufactured as a rifle & properly documented not illegal, just tightly restricted.

In this case the American gun law seems to be harder than the german law. Here in sucking germany you can make a pistol longer an build on rifle stocks like you want. Just otherwise is vorbidden-build a pistol grip at a rifle.
Rifles have a minimum lengh-but pistols no maximum lengh.
I have seen such a rifle stock at EGun, too. EGun is like Gunbroaker. It was selled for approximately 300€.
It looked identic like this postet here in the topic-so It seems to be a produced part and no selfmade part.
