SS 44 mag Dan WessonImage Enlarger

This has been the best shooter I have had.....   and I have had a few. I posted this last year, but thought it needed to be in this forum. There are allot of excellent DW's in the group that should also be here......   I just love the accuracy of this revolver, I am not the the best shot, but this DW makes my friends envious of the patterns I get.

I'm the same way.  If I didn't shoot Dan's, I probably wouldn't even hit the target.

Really nice looking 44. Is the slotted and drilled shroud, factory and is that what the BA prefix means? Thats a unique serial number too. I really like the non-fluted cylinder.

I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

I like the looks of it. I always like the skeletonized design on DW pistols too.

Nice custom work, who did it? Can you list the work and cost?

When he first joined he stated he purchased the gun as is.

Thanks for all the compliments ..

I bought it from the original owner. He bought it from the factory when he lived in PA, for hunting Deer and targeting. When he moved to TX, he had an accident that really messed up his shoulder and he could hardly hold it up for any amount of time.... he knew I had been eye balling his DW for several years and he sold it to me. He was to give me the original paper work, order sheet and build sheet, box, etc. But he passed before that happened and the family sold off his collection of Firearms to a single collector, and I had no way of getting the goodies that went with this Revolver. A shame...  but, I do have a fine gun. I appreciate the kind comments and appreciation for this DW, they are the best ever made, this is a fine example of that.  I bought it on 1988. 26 years later, it looks just like the day I bought it. Shoots as well too....          I also have a DW .357 in Blue with a 6" Barrel, a 15-2!  Not as pretty, but a hell of a shooter.

Been out for a while, glad to be back.      "Hi" to all!

This is almost certainly a Factory Custom gun, based on the special S/N and the unfluted cylinder. The B/A may very well be a factory special as well.

Nice Gun!

I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.
