Here's one I have not seen before. I walked into my favorite local gun shop and there it was. I was there to buy a Ruger 10/22 for my grandson, and I resisted DWAS long enough to get the Ruger home. Then my wife came home and I told her about it. She couldn't believe I didn't buy it on the spot! I gave several lame excuses for not spending the money, but she said if I didn't go back and get it right now, then she would! So, what else could I do....
When we got to the gun shop they said "we knew you would be back."
Well, I did buy it and since I can't shoot it, I ordered a display case and hung it on the wall next to the TV and right across from my recliner.
At least now I'll never forget the words to the Pledge!

I figured that, but this one had none of that, no certificate, just the gun. The price was also a lot lower than the other commemorative models I have seen photos of. In fact, lower than many of the 44's I've seen sold on Gunbroker. It was still hard to jsutify the purchase, since I like to shoot my guns. But I have no regrets now since I can admire it all day long without opening the safe.

I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

Nice photos Charger Fan. Interesting differences between the two versions - grips, cylinder & latch plated in one, and artwork is somewhat different. The cylinder plating pretty much precludes ever firing it. I guess if you're going to have a wall hanger, it might as well be a Dan.
Maybe I'll stumble onto another of the commemorative issues when it's a bargain and I'm able to buy. Not holding my breath.

Yes, there seem to have been varying levels of "trim packages" a buyer could choose with the various commemorative DW's. The next level was completely gold plated, although I am unsure if the "Pledge" model was available in more than the two variations shown here.
I wouldn't mind owning one of these commemoratives myself, at the right price. I'd really like to find a 2nd amendment model one of these days.
