I was totally set to snatch this one on the last day, then I lost internet connection two hours prior... Grrr...
Maybe it was divine intervention, I dunno. But I'm still pissed I missed this one. It's unique enough that I know it has a long and valued story. Anyway, I missed it, so now I must play "armchair bidder". Instead of posting photos of this one in hand, I'm posting auction photos for posterity. The gun ended up selling for $415, which I think is more than fair for the odd work it has been done. Still pissed, the more I think about it...Grrr...
Anyway, the link;

#1- It is a D11 frame, with I'm guessing wearing a 14 BA with a W11 front sight. Or maybe a D11 BA modified to a model 14 style BA. I dunno. The rear sight I really can't identify, but that sucker got cut deep into the top strap. Good thing there was a lot of meat there! The grip is completely custom too. Definitely wood, not Powerwood (plastic), with diamond shaped knurling. Probably feels great holding it!
Next is the left side.
Again is the odd rear sight cut into the frame/upper strap, but moving forward, is a 15-2 style cylinder release. Moving even further forward is the cylinder ejector rod...it has a ball on the end!
A better shot of the ball on the cylinder release. Also, the shroud has been milled to accept the ball.
A unique DW gunsmith anomaly that pops up from time to time on the various seller sites, this is one that someone has put a lot of time into at some point. Also an owner who wanted a particular gun in the end. I really wish had more of the back story on this one. Moreso, I wish I had the opportunity to shoot this one myself, I bet it shoots schweet!
I suspect that is a model 15 BA and a High Standard rear sight. The grip is a factory undercover version of the target Michigan grip. I just won a possibly unfired Model 12 with a 21/2" BA wearing that same grip but no relief for a speed loader and no checkering. Those are modifications. I paid $500 for it. Considering how porkchops have appreciated I think I got a great deal. No one else bid. I think for some reason certain listings don't show up on Gunbroker well. I am going to put in the later hand and handspring and Wolff reduced power springs even if I don't shoot it. If it is unfired I may keep it that way.

Thanks guys, I'll get over it.
Ole Dog, you may be right on the rear sight. The base (mount?) though, I'm not sure if I've seen one like that before. That was my main head-scratcher. To me, seeing custom work done to a Porkchop is just neat...when it's done well, as this one appears to have been. Congrats on landing the Model 12, it sounds like you did well.
