As topic states. I need some guidance with the replacement of a 14-2 Front sight for use on a 15-2. The 14-2 sight being much too short (yes I tried it). Looks like a tapered Pin thru front sight and rib? Flush on left, imbedded on right. Is this pin indeed directional?

Once removed/replaced, Is there a Problem replacing it Back??

I intend to replace with a 15-2 Front sight blade (non insert style)

Where is my thinking awry?? thank you

Do you already have a new front sight? If not I recommend EKW:

Eric Kovachic's products are top notch! I wish he would start making barrel assemblies again!

I think the roll pin or solid pin goes both ways. Not directional. Never known a DW pin to be directional.

Thanks Much to both of you..

@Ole Dog, I will try the pin...Gently

@ Stmstan 445  , Maybe that one sight with hole in it was intended for a 14-2 Shroud?? Maybe. Would you be interested in offing it??

Update..

Had to Drill pin out.. turns out it uses a .0620 pin,,,tight one too..I erred on the side of caution, and drilled with a .0590 drill..looks tapered in picture..but..the large end was left over when the drill grabbed the pin and pushed it out..ful size on undrilled end..

Replaced with front sight from @Stmstan 445   the one with the hole in it in above picture..

Could Not source the proper size pin.. but, that is OK...as the sight was pressed "up" ever so slightly..that I tapered (with a File) a slightly larger pin..removing some material from top of pin.. sucking the sight down (tapered side of pin UP. Test shot and seems very well regulated indeed... so...On my way back to shop to Loctite the darn thing together...since everything is very tightly fitted anyway...loctite should handily hold it all in place...

Just so ya Know...

Sure wish I could upload a darn Picture!!!!
