Where to begin…. I recently traded a brand new Taurus 605 for a DW 15-2 and i just so happened to miss a timing issue that the revolver has. To be exact, while in DA (slowly pulling the trigger), the hand seems to ever so slightly lack the appropriate lift to engage the cylinder bolt (little metal hook that locks the cylinder). However, when pulling the hammer manually, the hand has an extra bit of travel and properly engages the extractor notch each time, hence producing an effective cylinder lockup. After today's inspection i have ruled out the side plate screws being the culprits (pretty sure the top 1/4 screw is now stripped 🙁 had to use a torx-9) as well as maybe ruled out the worn hand. I ordered the replacement parts kit from EWK arms to replace some of the old springs and i hope to fix my problem. Also ordered a NOS hand and cylinder bolt.
My working theory is that some spring inside has lost its “springiness” and need replacement for effective DA trigger pull. My plan is to disassemble once again, replace stripped screws, springs and clean the interior while reapplying moderate to light ointment. Also will try to cold-blue some trouble spots that have no rust but no blue left either.
Overall I’m very new to DW, about as old as my profile, but i wont be discouraged to fix this beauty. All the help in the world is appreciated and pics can be provided if requested.
Thanks in advance to any recommendations!
See you later, Cowboys!

Try This:DW Grip Screw Function Things a Dan Wesson owner should know! Forum Dan Wesson Forum
After my scare with the side plate screws I made sure to only snug fit the screws, including the grip screw so I suspect he’s not the culprit. Any further tips on how much I should tighten or loosen all the screws? So far I’ve been doing it by feel.
thanks for the reply!
