So I have a gunsmithing post, if I wanna call myself that, and I don't. lol and a reload post because my Dan wouldn't shoot a decent group with my cast boolets, which I recently started. This has gone on a yr. or two. Last week, I found the cylinder kinda wobbling around a little and the trigger not resetting too well, not in that order. I take her all apart and look for clues. All Moly-ed up in there with lots of grey Moly grit. I clean everything up, with my trusty Dremel and soft wheel. I had to reshape an Allen wrench, but finally got the latch apart and found the spring, lopsided. The latch now closes with a nice click now. I also cleaned and deepened mating surfaces and the cylinder now is much tighter. The rear locking detent ball was also very loose. The cylinder notches also got a good cleaning, which now lets the bolt lock, better. I also took a little off the top of the bolt allowing it to rise a couple 1000ths more. There were a couple burrs on two notches from the woobly cylinder. The gun is feeling really slick now. I shot it and the groups were much better but still the trigger stuck a little. I am waiting to shoot again after putting a new angle on the trigger spring, putting much more pressure on the trigger, but actually making it feel nicer. So thanks for reading and make sure those latches are tight.

Yes it won't go immediately forward. It seems to have cleared up thou and the gun feels really nice and Smith-like. I polished or reshaped a bunch of parts trying to find the culprit. I think the handspring was the problem. I will keep your suggestion in mind and hope to not need it.

I enjoyed reading it. Not sure what to suggest but I have had all of my Dans apart and have slicked the triggers on them and I enjoy visualizing the work that others may have done. I polish but I do NOT reshape anything. If the trigger is not re-setting are you sure the trigger reset spring is not slipping off the trigger?
Where was the bend in the hand spring?? The spring should basically be on the transfer bar with a small part riding in the groove of the hand.
Good luck, I enjoy reading about internal DW work.

No the trigger spring is where it should be but now with a, sharp, downward angle that pushes harder on the trigger. The trigger seems fine now and was only hesitating with just a tiny push needed. I had many thoughts as to the problem. Tapping the gun would reset it as well as a tiny push on the hand or bolt. I looked but didn't have a later pic of the innards

I will take one of mine apart, and photo it's results, in hopes it helps you.
I do have to ask, as when I glance thru O/P, I see no mention of model or manufacture.. we doing L/f or S/f?
they differ greatly.. I'm doing a writup right now, to really show how a L/F can be assembled uber easy, without introducing THREAD..? man, into the assembly.. it's really easy, and just uses a bread loaf twist tie... really.
