Hi, I'm getting ready to load for my 445 supermag. I am planning on using 300gr Missouri hammer hard cast bullets, federal 155 primers and am wanting to start with w296/h110 powder since I have some on hand. Has anyone loaded with this combination? I am looking for a starting charge weight. I have been led to believe it's not good to start to light with this powder. Also wanting to try some 320gr to 340gr with same powder. Any help would be appreciated.

To the from central IL!!!
I cut-n-pasted this from another recent thread here on the DWF. Andrew1220 said:
“If you want to stand a chance of scoring primers and hard to find powders online, join the reloading server on Discord. People post in stock items and you get alerts. Here's an invite:
Go to the sidebar and click on "notification-selection" and choose what you want to be notified for. Also make sure to select a state channel and/or press brand, to show that you're somewhat active on the server and not a bot. Otherwise the mods will delete you within a week or so.
Another good option is getting on the shootbot email list. You get email alerts.

I've scored cases and cases of primers over the last couple years because of these apps/servers. I did stock up on primers before the STHF so I'm set on primers for at least the next 4 years or so.”
Im giving you this information specifically for the Discord information. I joined Discord recently and have found that platform to be very helpful when it comes to anything reloading related. Lots of different threads pertaining to reloading and recipies.
I hope this helps!

You definitely don't want to use very quick powders in small amounts in large cases. The detonation acts more like a grenade but H110 isn't super-fast, so I'd start with a 44 Magnum Max load if your search for 445 reloading data doesn't produce; I'd say about 30 grains for a start. Old Accurate and Hornady loading manuals should help.
Technically, the glass is always full; half liquid, half air....

I thought I would have some useful info for you from load data when the 445 Supermag was being developed. The problem is the loads they did testing with only used 240 gr bullets. If you would like W296 loads for 240gr bullets in the future let me know I can help.
I did load 300 gr for elk hunting years ago but I did not come across the info yet. If and when I do I will post it.
