Favorite Recipes,
For closer range work out to 25 yards my DW 15-2 loves 4.2 gns Trail Boss or 3.4 gns Bullseye under the Lee mold dewc in .357 brass. But what about longer distances like 100-150 yards? Of course I'd switch to SWC cast bullets, but what about a reasonably flat shooting load that could topple a steel target?
All Thoughts Welcome

When you're talking about 100-150 yds or even 200 yds. Most people bump up to the .357 Super Mags. They will topple the steel targets and they were design just for that.
You might try these loads for the .357 mag.:
158 gr. Sierra H-110 @ 15.2 gr. =1555 fps
170 gr. Sierra H-4227 @ 14.1 gr =1285 fps
170 gr. Sierra H-110 @ 15.1 gr. =1398 fps
180 gr. Speer WW296 @ 15.5 gr. =1520 fps
200 gr Speer WW296 @ 14.0 gr. =1376 fps
200 gr. Speer IMR 4227 @ 13.3 gr.=1225 fps
A 357 SuperMag would travel about 3-400 fps faster.

I use Sierra FMJ and Speer FP. The 200 gr. cast flat point is a little heavier for the steel target. Its tried and true. There is a 210 gr too. The Lyman 210, with H-110 with 12.5 gr. powder at 1224 fps. There should be some guys here that can give you a good run down on the cast bullets. Its hard to beat the flat top cast bullets after Elmer Keith.

Greetings
Used my 15-2 with a 10" for 2 seasons at Silly Wets. 180 grainer Gc with as much 296 as your DW will tolerate. I seated the bullet out to the 1st grease groove to get a bit more case space. 15-2 ´s have long cylinders so check that advantage. This combination would knock down rams as long as impact was at least 4" above belly line. Barrel gap was set as close as possible and still have cylinder rotation. Barrel nut was tight.
