I know this should probably be in the Reloading section, but I see very few posts on reloading the 357 Max.
So here is/are my question (s):
1. Where can I buy brass?
2. Are any of the powders I have for loading for my 6 BR useable for the Max.?
(i.e. Reloader 10, 15; Varget; Benchmark; H322; BL-C2; N165; and 4350)
3. Do any of you use small rifle magnum primers (I have 5K of them on hand)?
Thanks All,
Jim

I shoot both the max and 6BR. So I will try to answer at least some of your questions.
1. Brass–right now there seem's to be a shortage, haunt the internet, gunshows, and anyplace you can think of. Good Luck.
2. I don't use any of the same powders in both. I use H-4227 and H-110 or WW-296 in the max. I use some of the same powders in my 6BR that you use, plus N-130, and am going to try CFE-223 in it.
3. Most recipes for loading the max use small rifle mag primers. I use CCI-450 primers. Back when there was a primer shortage, there was no shortage of the CCI's.
Good Luck finding brass, if you find more than you can use there are others out there that are looking. Please post the location, if you find some.

Glad to hear I can use some of the Wolf SRM primers I have on hand. I thought about selling my 6br powders to fund for loading the Max. but I may end up with a contender in 6br so I will keep them.
I will check with Boyd Carpenter here in Culpeper (Some of you IMSHA shooters may know the name) and try to pry some brass away from him since he is no longer shooting the max.
Any fellow members who would like to get rid of some of that old tarnished brass that's just laying around gathering dust, just drop me an email.

I haven't had much problem finding .357 Maxie brass, it's the .375 SM brass that's tough. Maxie brass can be frequently found on GB, plus other more common venues. I even saw a couple bags of 50 recently at my local Sportsman's Warehouse. I'm kicking myself for not grabbing them.
I load mine with 180gr Speer TMJ's and 18gr of 4227 with CCI400's. They always go BANG and always do the job for me. I don't have any burning urge to deviate from some tried-n-true loads from previous DW shooters who have blazed the trail before me, I am perfectly content to use their load data, and so far, see no reason to deviate.
BANG...SPLAT/CLANG...yep, works perfect. No problem.
Many other primers would probably work equally as well, but speaking for myself, I have found the combination above is what my model 40 likes bestest.

Brass is definitely in short supply (actually no supply). All the retailers are out and there's quite a few others that are out there scouring the net looking for it as well. Midway's stock date is at 09/10 not but that's been moving out on a regular basis and they're not taking backorders now.

Huh, I guess I just got lucky on the brass I found. Okay, so nevermind what I said, and
CF – depends on when you found the brass – there probably was some abundent supply when you found it. I believe there was still some stock in the supply line late last year but it has pretty much all dired up. I've been looking for the past 4 or 5 months and all suppliers are out of stock. I'm seeing others on line that are scouring all sources as well without much luck. I was able to come up with 100 pcs. of brass and just last week found 25 loaded rounds in new brass from an ammo. supplier at the gun show. Other than that, it's dry as a bone out there. The good news is……Remington is running a large lot soon (I called the ammo factory myself to inquire), but it may take several months to get it into distribution before we see it on the retail shelves.

You just have to keep looking. I know as soon as I stop, a supply will come up somewhere, and I will hear about it from the elated new owner…never fails.
I belive this is an extension of "Murphey's Law", and pretty much guaranteed it will happen!!
