Geez, I'm the opposite ... I use my handloading to produce "light" target loads for cheap, so I can put lots of lead down range and have fun.

I use the high-end manufacturer's cartridges (e.g. Hornady, etc.) for my carry PD ammo.

How light do you go and what powder are you using in 357 MAX?  H110 does not react well to reduced loads.

I recently decided to shoot my 357 Supermag in my club indoor range where magnums are not permitted with full loads

I used 357 Maximum Remington brass , a Lyman cast bullet weighing 195 grains , standard pistol primers with 9.5 grains 4227.... The load was moderate in recoil, typical light target load and was really surprised with the accuracy . In a indoor 20 yd range 6 shots fired with a standing 2 handed offhand hold gave me a group about one inch.

I was quite please with the accuracy of this relatively light load

Interesting thanks for the info on the load and the pic.

I'm sorry, I was speaking in general terms, not .357 Max specifically. I have heard that that cartridge does not perform well and accuracy suffers with light loads.  I am not sure about how H110 reacts with reduced loads, so am not able to comment.

From what I understand about acting in self defense with a firearm, you are very well advised to use commercially available ammunition, as opposed to personally produced ammunition, for self defense

I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

Absolutely ... after all, we're not Vigillante's.
