Looking for ideas on reliable, safe loads for the 375. My Hornady manual only lists one bullet weight and a few loads for that. What do others find the gun likes? BTW 8" BA.

I don't know what your book has, but here is a load I use. These are competition loads.
.220 gr hornady FP
Powders H=110 powder loads 20.2 gr, 21.2 gr, 22.2 gr, 23.0gr.
1183 1214 1273 1286 fps
Win. 296 20.1 22.1 22.2
1123 1151 1217 fps
I have powder loads with H-4227, Win. 680, AA-9, AA5744 too.

I like H-4227 or IMR-4227 for mine, with the Hornady 220 grain bullet. It like loads near max the best.
Sierra has a 200 grain FN that will also work, but I have never gotten good accuracy out of it in my Dan Wesson, even though it does very well in my .375 Winchester Contender barrel.

Good morning
When up north in the state of ILL I get out the DW 8" 375. For hunting critters over 100 pounds I prefer a cast bullet in the 255 grain weight (Ideal 375248). Have used these on deer and they will reliable exit. Pushed at 1250 fps + with 1680 or 296 and cast with 50/50 they will duplicate the old BP 38-55 load. Cast with WW you can get to 1300. I do not have that load info here in Peru with me.. But start with 20 grains and work your way up. One of the benefits of cast is that you are goung to pick up 50 fps due to the lesser friction going down the barrel.
I use a 220 grain Saeco on lesser weight critters. For reaching across a 100 yard meadow it makes a dandy groundhog or coyotee thumper.

Thanks for the ideas guys. I don't have my manual in front of me now but one of the loads I was thinking about that is in my manual is 17.8gn to 18.9gn of 2400 behind a 220gn FP Horady. I somewhat like this load since I use 2400 for my 41 mag and 44 mag loads and have a good bit of it. Also, I have a powder measure set up for 2400 for the 41 and it will only take a little tweaking to get it set for that range (starting at the lower end).
I've been doing some thinking on how I'm going to load this cartridge on my Dillon XL650 since there isn't a caliber conversion kit for the SM. It looks like a combination of several pieces of different kits I have should do the trick. The shell plate and locator pins I'm going to use is for the 41 mag as it has a very similar head dimenison. The station one locator will also be from the 41 kit. I'm going to use the powder funnel (which also flares the case mouth) from my 357 mag kit. It fits well and with a bit of adjustment flares the cases just right. I have the dies for the 375SM so that won't be a problem, I've mounted them in a spare tool head so I'm about ready to go. I will manually feed each cartridge since I don't want to mess with my case feeder to load just a few rounds. I also don't want to foul up any brass as I only have a few empty cases to begin with.
Anything worth doing is worth doing well.
