Do you 41 owners out there have any problems finding ammo locally? I was looking around at the big box outdoor stores (Gander Mountain, Bass Pro, Dicks) and only Bass Pro even carried any, and they were sold out. I realize the cartridge never attained the popularity of the 44 but its not an obscure caliber either. I wouldn't expect them to have 445 SM ammo, but come on, 41 Mag? I saw plenty of 32 Mag and 32H&R, both of which seem more obscure than 41. I'll have to talk to some of my friends who have a 41 and see where they are sourcing ammo. I hate to go to the net but maybe have to. Buying brass and loading is another option, but have to order brass too.
So how is availability where you are?

41 mag isn't easy to come by down here. I'm suprised that you found 32 mag too; while I was in Lincoln, NE there wasn't any. I thought a trip to the big city would have yielded me some luck, but alas...
I do most shopping for hard to find ammo on the net and attempt to make orders w/ buddies in order to save on shipping.
Good Luck

What about gun shows? I'll have to look next time I go. I remember back in the mid 80s, a bunch of my friends all bought 41 mags and they were common caliber, available at the local sporting goods store. I guess the fell out of favor.
We have one small private gun shop that carries alot of different calibers 41 among them, but all they had were personal defense loads, 20rds and expensive. They had 32 as well.
Anybody have a particular internet source they like to use?

Hard to find usally means expensive when you do.
The net might be the cheapest way to go , alot of the stuff out there is
20rnd high dollar stuff but here are a couple that are more reasonable.
Here 50rnds $23

I second Rod Slinger's comment on reloading. The long-term cost savings of reloading cannot be denied (in most cases). In addition, reloading provides you much more flexibility such as allowing you to tailor loads specific to your firearm and using a variety of projectiles, not to mention taking pride in making your own ammo.

I have never had any problems finding .41 Magnum ammo...I just look in the ammo closet and pick a box. Been a reloader since 1985, so it has never been an issue...AND, it's far cheaper than factory ammo. I probably have about 1000 rounds ready to shoot. And more brass ready to reload.
