I just noticed my trigger guard is loose on my 744.  When i pull on the trigger guard it separates from the frame in the front.  It only does it when it is pulled.  I was checking to see how i would tighten the trigger guard so it doesn't separate from the frame. I was checking to see if it is possible to tighten without disassembling the gun?  I haven't disassembled a DW before and would prefer to correct without doing so! Thanks in advance

THIS will give you a closer look at how everything comes apart and goes back together. I have been inside the small frame, but I've never worked on the large frame, so I can't provide much more help

I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

Impossible to fix without disassembling.  Once apart, you can try to punch a couple dimples in the front tab of the trigger guard where it mates inside the frame.  Or you can try to shim the tab to take up the play.  Either way it has to come apart, which isn't too complicated.  Putting the large frame back together can be a little tricky.

If it's a just a fit issue, I'd follow the tutorial to pull the trigger guard off, cut and place a small piece of aluminum foil duct tape on the front tab then put it all back together.  Not hard and you have everyone here to help you along if you get stuck.

Technically, the glass is always full; half liquid, half air....

There's the answer, right there.  Just the other day I was shimming up a the front tab on the side plate of a small frame.  The back side of the side plate wasn't flat, so when the back end was screwed down, the front popped up leaving it uneven with the frame by about .005-.100".  I shimmed it up with a couple layers of foil and it held it down perfect, but it was a little tricky getting it to stay in place.  Duct foil will work perfect in these types of applications - I use it all the the time for sand blasting.
