I had about 100 large rifle primers go off in my press a few years ago. That gets your attention VERY fast!

Sounded like a 357 mag being shot in my concrete basement! My ears rang for a week.

Ok, just for future reference, and so I don't soil myself while reloading someday, how did they ignite?

I have a dillon 650 progressive press. Primer system holds 100 primera and they drop onto a dual with holes. Every pull of the handle advanced a new primer into position, Amy unused primers are supposed to drop into a tray for reuse. Well one got stuck in the disk and traveled around until it could go no further, the next pull was difficult but I thought I had a poorly lubed case and pulled a bit harder, big mistake. That pull crushed the primer and it detonated and caused all the remaining primers to go off. BANG! Flash welded the inner aluminum primer tube to the outer steel tube. Good news Dillon replaced it free of charge, said that it wasn't supposed to do that, no kidding. My dad was right, if it sticks, DON'T FORE IT!

Thanks! Glad no one was hurt. I just have a single stage press so maybe I can avoid that one.
